It was the earliest hours of noon in which the rays of the sun☀️could Peel the skin off.

   Women of different ages tagged to the river bank, ignoring the intensity of the sun 🌞

Most Yoruba folks don't give room for weather cliche as they depict such person to be lazy.

 The people of that village are know for their assiduous dedications to work, most especially the woman doing their domestic toils for the satisfaction of their husbands. most of the house wife sent their female daughters to a nearby stream on a daily basis.

Except from bimbo, a lone orphan😔 teenage girl who was the village laughing Object 😹 due to the possession she had from the lost of her parents, being an old fashion boat⛵ with holes all over them.

Most people find it strange 🤨 for a girl to go fishing. "that's a taboo"😳 they would say. but bimbo never show a good or bad countenance to their opinions 😶

 Instead she rush to the river close by to start her fishing.

One day when bimbo hauled her net into the boat as usual, to her greatest surprise😳 her net contains a fish almost as big as herself,with a wide tail. the sight of such a large creature made her motionless.

She was about to grabbed a 🗡️cleaver to kill it, just as she was about to bring it aboard.

Observing it🧐more closer, the head was a guys own with dark alluring hair dropped like a woman.

The strange fish turned its head🧒 and she saw the face hiding over the net.

It was a male mermaid (merman) to her dismay😳

in her village,they were two different versions about the story of the mermaids. one version stated that the mer-people eat fishermen or other encounter, while the other version of the story said seeing them with your bear eyes 👀👀could bring bad luck.

No one actually knows which version of the story was true.

"please.", was all he said, in the most soft and pitiful 🥺 voice she Ever heard. 

Instead of killing him,she freed the creature from the tangles of the net, help him back into the river and watched until he swarm from sight deep in the waters of the bay. although bimbo didn't know she had caught afonja,the prince of eastern ocean who came to that part of the River for a royal meeting.

Afonja was very grateful to the poor fisherman's daughter who spared his life for he knew that humans killed mer-people when they caught them.

He rewarded bimbo by filling her nets everyday with Fishes 🐟

sometimes at night he would swim🧜 to the surface of the water and leave a gift inside bimbo's boat ⛵when she's done fishing, the next day bimbo would be amazed as such gifts those include an oyster with lovely pearls inside and some precious gem stones.
